Daren Shavell, CFA

Daren joined Calder Investment Advisors in the Spring of 2019.  He is a partner in the firm and member of Calder’s Investment Committee.

Daren has worked in investment management since 2001 in diverse areas including: portfolio management, structuring, trading and business development.  He started his investment career at Bear, Stearns & Co., Inc., New York in 2001, where he structured mortgage-backed and collateralized bond securities.  From 2003 to 2005, Daren focused his expertise in the audit and deal side as a Senior Analyst at Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu Ltd., New York, where he performed transactional audits in the fixed income securities arena.  Since 2006, Daren has focused his career on investment management with independent investment firms in the Detroit Metro area and he joined Centennial Securities, LLC, Grand Rapids in June of 2014 where he functioned as a portfolio manager.

Daren is a graduate of the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, MI (B.A., 2001).  He holds the Series 66 license and is a CFA charterholder ( Chartered Financial Analyst).
